National Geographic Society President will give a slide-talk at the Fine Arts Center for the benefit of the Red Cross. The Tryon Town Council meets at 7:30 tonight at the Town Hall. The Polk County School Board meets tonight at 7:30 at the Extension Conference Room in the courthouse annex. The Tryon School Board has a special meeting tonight with the PTA Board in the Superintendent's office at the high school. This fortunate result is in no small measure, due to your volunteer efforts and to those fellow civic minded individuals who lent their professional expertise and time to this venture On behalf of the Fair Committee each of us wishes to thank you most kindly for your help. MONDAY. MAY 11,1981 Bloodmobile Today 12—5:30 This is Bloodmobile Day in Tryon. the Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church between noon and 5:30 p m. Non donors can get a free blood pressure check there between two and four p.m. Donors get the same check free whenever they arrive to give blood. Another Red Cross event today, part of the program to mark its 100th anniversary, will be the lecture tonight at 8 p.m in the Fine Arts Center by Gilbert M. Grosvenor, president of the Naitonal Geographic Society. A reception for Mr. Grosvenor will follow his talk Audubon Society Meets May 19th The Piedmont Audubon Society will meet Tuesday, May 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the Art Center, 385 S. Spring St., Spartanburg Dr. Jerry Howe, professor of Geology and Chemistry, Converse College, will present "The Mt. St Helen’s Story." The 53rd Annual Tryon Horse Show will be held May 22 , 23 and 24 at the Carter P. Brown Equestrian Center at-Harmon Field. This year all fees from ringside and outside course parking will be donated to the Polk County Animal Protection Society. The finest hunters and jumpers in the Southeast are expected for the event.
